About Us

Brown Sugar Catering Co was established in 2005 with the hopes of providing classic creations with a modern twist. The owner, Diema “Chef Dee” Ellingberg, was born and raised in California with roots that reach to Texas and New Orleans. Chef Dee created the company in remembrance and respect to all of the positive women that surrounded her throughout her life. With cooking in her blood, it was pure destiny that brought Chef Dee and the world of the culinary together. She attended Diablo Valley in Pleasant Hill, Ca. where she studied culinary arts, baking and pastry and hotel and restaurant management. Chef Dee has had the pleasure of working with and under the direction of some of the best Chefs in Northern California and beyond. She’s used the wealth of information she’s gathered over the years from family, friends and other professionals in the field to provide you with a wonderful selection of food that has a whole lot of heart.

We consider our food, California cuisine with a little soul. We’ve catered weddings, birthday parties, company parties, baby showers, family reunions and other events throughout the bay area. Brown Sugar Catering Co also teams up with some of their affiliates to offer various events such as quarterly tasting parties and an annual “My Mother’s an Angel” Brunch.
